On the night early in August a child’s dog went missing in the Van Riebeeck Park area. The father took his distressed daughter in his landrover and went about searching for her belovered collie.

The dog was subsequently found, but on stopping on a verge to pick up dog, had forgotten to put the hand break on.

The land rover had to to hauled out of its per curious position. Apparently there was minimal damage to the veld.

A R500.00 fine was slapped onto the owner.

City of Cape Town bulldozing and subsequent destruction of fynbos in the construction of a roadway in the kloofnek hiking trail a blatant violation. The rape of our indigenous vegetation without check, what will be left for future generations.
Once again City of Cape Town hard at work protecting our environment. They have granted the UWC permission to destroy three hectares of “critically endangered Cape fynbos”.

The slogan ” The City Works for You” should possibly be changed to “The CITY WILL DESTROY FOR YOU”
